  Consultation on Quality Assurance and Improvement Policy
  A Quality Assurance and Improvement Policy is being developed as part of the University's self-regulatory framework. The Academic Quality Audit Committee has released the draft policy for consultation with the university community. Feedback from individuals and groups is now sought. The consultation period closes on Tuesday 23rd April.

  Consultation on Course Reviews Proposal
  Part of the University's self-regulatory framework includes the establishment of an external course review process. A proposal on how these reviews might be conducted has been developed and feedback is now being sought from individuals and groups within the academic community. The consultation period closes on 30th April.

  FREE IT Recycling on Campus (15-17 April)
  Bring your personal IT E-waste to Murdoch University’s campuses for FREE recycling during the 43rd World Earth Day event, coordinated with SIMS. Accepted items are restricted but include computers, monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, laptops, computer components, cables and mobile phones. Collections will occur at the Peel and Rockingham campuses on 15th April only, and at the Murdoch campus on 15th, 16th and 17th April. Murdoch University assets are not accepted.

  What is the best way to prevent plagiarism and teach students referencing? What influences why students plagiarise? What are the trends in plagiarism and what cultural differences do we know about and can we expect? This presentation will engage these, and other, questions about plagiarism, academic integrity, and training students in referencing. This HERDSA Scholarship Profiled Seminar will be presented by Dr Guy Curtis.

  From Mouse to Man: Developing novel compounds for pain relief.
  Chronic pain comes in many forms and poses a significant unmet medical need and economic burden for modern societies. This seminar, by Professor Dave Spanswick of Monash University, will outline a number of strategies employed by us to develop novel pharmacological agents for pain relief.
