  Personalising the middle-income trap: An inter-generational migrant view from rural Thailand Using the experiences of first and second generation migrants from three villages in Thailand, this paper 'personalises' the middle income trap, seeking to understand how and why migrants with growing levels of education and human capital remain rooted to their natal villages. Agrarian change is such that the village remains the locus of familial belonging and livelihood security.

The possibilities for the design of capstone experiences vary significantly: different frameworks may be used (for example, a disciplinary or inter-disciplinary focus or to satisfy professional accreditation requirements); rationales and objectives may differ; and a variety of models utilised (for example, an integrated final year program, a single subject, a suite of subjects or modules within several subjects).

  Learning to fly: Capstones across disciplines
  As the culminating experience of a qualification, capstones are increasingly being implemented across institutions in Australia. This presentation will explore the purpose of capstones as part of the final year experience, why they are important to students, and key concepts for capstone design. We will also briefly discuss some of the examples from across the sector, and how they deliver on the ‘capstone’ concept.
